Twelve teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean competed for the prestigious CONCACAF Gold Cup in June. This year’s winner – Mexico in a 4-2 victory over the United States – not only went home with “bragging rights,” the team also earned a spot to the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil in 2013.

MillerCoors recognizes that beer is a part of the enjoyment at fun-filled events like the Gold Cup. That’s why we are fielding our own team at the Rose Bowl, the site of the Gold Cup, this year! While fans gathered to cheer on their favorite team, MillerCoors was educating consumers that drunk driving is completely preventable.
Along with TEAM Coalition, MillerCoors encouraged soccer fans to pledge to be designated drivers or plan ahead for safe transportation during the competition. Those without designated drivers received taxi vouchers from MillerCoors for safe travel to and from the games. Throughout the tournament, TEAM Coalition added to the fun by letting people text to be designated drivers. Then, the fans were eligible for great prizes throughout the tournament and more.
