Free iRecycle iPhone app from Earth911

If you look around your kitchen, there are many things that can be recycled when they’ve outgrown their usefulness and you can’t find anyone to hand them down to. From large appliances to aluminum foil, recycling can keep a lot of your kitchen items out of landfills.When I don’t know where I can take an item to be recycled, kitchen or otherwise, one of the sources I’m likely to turn to for that information is Earth911.com. Earth911 has a search feature that allows users to input the name of an item and enter their location, and it will find the nearest place to take that item for recycling. It’s not foolproof, but for difficult to recycle items, it can really come in handy.
Earth911 had come up with iPhone app that puts its recycling search engine on your cell phone. Once you find a recycling facility that suits your needs, with the touch of the screen you can instantly get directions to the facility or phone the facility to ask further questions.

Bottom line: iRecycle gets you from Point A to Point B. With information provided by local governments, industry insiders, organizations and everyday consumers, you can recycle hundreds of products from packing peanuts to computers. We know where you need to go to get things done.
