Some friends and a used to do something similar: we bought a whole bison and split up the cuts. We did it two years in a row, and I had a freezer full of tasty bison for several months. This was in Idaho though... Too bad you can't get bison in too many other places. I would do it again if I have the chance.

Like Eharmony, EHoofery brings together people of like minds, interests, but - and here's the real value proposition - inversely proportional tastes in their beef! "I love the tenderloin, but Alice loves the flank. We met on Ehoovery 2 years ago and have been buying our cows together ever since. We plan on getting married next month. Oh, and all the beef at the wedding will be from our recent purchase of a locally raised cow! Thanks Ehoovery!"

As a grower we love selling whole or half cows because it makes delivery a lot easier than selling it one steak at a time.

...of the King of the Hill episode where Hank buys tough, tasteless steaks from the supermarket (which he is embarrassed to serve at his bbq). He decides to join the town co-op in search of better meat and ends up with a cow of his own!

Farmers don't just raise vegetables...there are plenty of us who are raising pigs, sheeps, and cows who are dedicated to high standards. This is just a variation on CSAs...making it affordable for more people but also guaranteeing local farmers a regular income.

Cowpooling?!?! Where do you come up with this stuff? Love it...
Posted By Grey Garvin - Fri, Sep 18 2009 at 11:07 AM ESTCowpooling still equals meat-eating
But I do like the idea of supporting local farmers and moving away from the factories. I wouldn't participate in this but I have neighbors who aren't going to give up their beef and I'd rather see grass-fed local beef in their freezer than meat from Krogers shipped halfway across the county.

Cowpooling and watch it grow
Enter your comments hereWe found this rancher in Colorado where they have a website where you can by your beef and watch it grow up. We planned ahead for ours and it was a great experience watching what we eat grow up. Very Neat Site. www.coloradonaturalbestbeef.com
