I try very hard not to waste food, but sometimes things need to be thrown away for safety. With many foods, it’s easy to tell when something should be tossed by giving it a good sniff. But some foods aren’t so easy. Eggs? Leftover pizza? They can look perfectly fine for a long time. But are they? This video from the "Today" show has a few tricks for deciding if you should toss the eggs, the pizza or something else in your fridge.
I didn’t know the trick about the eggs. I’ll have to keep that in mind. I must admit, we usually leave any leftover Friday night pizza on the dining room table and the boys will often grab it for breakfast the next morning. No one has ever gotten sick from it, but I may need to rethink that habit.
