A festival for good, sustainable food
A 5-day Good Food Festival and Conference will bring together farmers, sustainable food advocates, chefs, and foodies to Santa Monica., Calif., in September.
- Localicious. Described as the "Grand Tasting Gala of the Year," this event will pair 30 local farmers with 30 of L.A.'s top chefs, who'll create in-season dishes for attendees to enjoy while tasting local wines and beers and the beautiful sunset at the Annenberg Community Beach House. Cost: From $125.
- Chefs at Play. This all-day tasting event is another farmer-meets-chef event that sounds a lot like Localicious — except with more watching and less eating. Each featured chef will have an hour to "play." Get there early to see how the creations from L.A.'s best restaurants — including Lucques, Campanile and Spago — get whipped up.
- Good Food Festival and Street Fair. It'll be like a farmers market that lasts all weekend when this fair takes over the city streets on Saturday and Sunday, featuring exhibits with family farmers and artisanal producers, street food sourced from farmers market fare, and more.
- Good Food Conference and Trade Show. Hear speakers and panelists talk about everything from changing public policy to improving public health — all through the lens of good food — at this all-day Friday conference.
