I’ve written about greening the single-serve coffee maker before. There’s a lot of waste associated with those coffee makers, despite how good a cup of coffee they make.

 

I came across a reusable coffee filter for the Keurig single-serve coffee maker while I was shopping the other day that I didn’t know existed. MY K-CUP reusable filter assembly lets the Keurig owner use whatever ground coffee he wants in the coffee maker.

 

Instead of throwing away a small, plastic one time use K-CUP each time a cup of coffee is used, Keurig users can reuse the same filter over and over.

 

For some people, the ease of popping in a pre-measured, disposable K-CUP is appealing. But for those who want to keep as much plastic as possible out of the waste stream, single-serve coffee makers create a dilemma – create a perfect cup of coffee each time or be a friend to the environment? It seems like this reusable filter solves that dilemma.
