My local farmers market won American Farmland Trust’s
2009 America’s Favorite Farmers Market contest in the small market category. It was exciting when The Collingswood Farmers Market
won for many reasons. I was most excited because it brought recognition to South Jersey and the amazing local foods we have in the region.
Representatives from The Collingswood Farmers Market, along with those from last year’s winners in the medium and large categories, will join American Farmland Trust for A Word with Winners of the 2009 America’s Favorite Farmers Market Contest
webinar. Last year’s winners will share their stories about how they got the attention of the local media and consumers to gain votes to win the contest.
America’s Farmland Trust is already taking sign-ups for the 2010 contest
. There will be a many new prizes for market managers and customers this year as well as more tools for getting the community to come out and support farmers markets.
