There are two big food events happening later this month. They both raise awareness about hunger and about good, sustainable food.

World Food Day takes place on Oct. 16. It’s been observed since 1981, and it’s a global movement to end hunger. This year’s theme is Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition. The group's website has information about events that are happening and about ways to get involved.

Food Day takes place on Oct. 24. It’s a nationwide celebration
 and a movement for healthy,
affordable, sustainable food. People are encouraged to "eat real" on this day and to share a meal of real food with others. There are hundreds of Food Day events all over the country at schools, community meeting places, and outdoor venues, or you could simply invite others to your home and serve them a meal of real food.

Will you be participating in one of these educational food events?
