Christmas recipe: Panettone bread pudding
The traditional Italian holiday bread is used to make a warm, slightly sweet dessert.

This video from Harvest Eating, a website devoted to eating seasonally, uses a store bought Panettone to create a homemade bread pudding for the holiday season. The Panettone used comes from Whole Foods, and the rest of the ingredients are easy enough to buy organically if you choose.

I’d like to make one suggestion, though. The Panettone in the box is wrapped in a plastic bag and then in a paper wrapper. In the video, the plastic bag is quickly cut off. Don’t do that. It looks like a useful plastic bag that if opened carefully could be used one more time before hitting the trash.

I have always wondered what to do with the panetone and am excited to have a recipe my family loves!

Every year we get at least two panetone (My husband is Sicilian) and we end up giving most away. I decided to go online to find some creative dishes for panetone and came across yours. It is yummy!

Thank you so much!
