Dive! into a film about freeganism

Can you live off of what is thrown away?

Fri, Mar 05 2010 at 11:18 AM EST

Here’s another movie for my list of need-to-watch environmental food films. Dive! is a film about living off America’s waste. It follows “filmmaker Jeremy Seifert and his circle of friends as they 'Dumpster dive' in the back alleys and gated garbage receptacles of L.A.’s supermarkets. In the process, they uncover thousands of dollars worth of good food and an ugly truth about waste in America: grocery stores know they are wasting and most refuse to do anything about it."

Watch the trailer and check the Web site to see if there is a screening near you or you can purchase the film.

Would love to see this movie in the Sundance channel or some other progressive tv channel since I think food waste is a crime!
