I feel like your mom this week because I keep telling you what to do. Since Sunday is Mother’s Day, and I am a mom, I suppose it’s okay. Yesterday, I reminded you to put your food donations out on Saturday for Stamp Out Hunger. Today I’m reminding you, no, I’m exhorting you, to get to the movie theaters to see “Fed Up” this weekend if it’s opening near you.
As I mentioned after I saw a preview of the film that will change the way you look at eating, “Fed Up” is a must-see movie that connects the dots between the current public metabolic disease crisis and the ingredients in processed foods.
At the end of the movie, the filmmakers throw out The Fed Up Challenge – eliminate refined sugar from your diet for 10 days. Watch as executive producers Katie Couric and Laurie David talk about the challenge, telling us to pull together and encourage. They admit it will be difficult, but we’ll come through the other side healthier and happier.
I went on a 21-day sugar fast a few year’s back. I had very positive results, including the unexpected perk of having a better complexion. I plan on taking my boys to see “Fed Up” next Tuesday night, and after that my house will go sugar free for 10 days. (Shhhhh…. Don’t tell my boys yet.)
