We’re only a little over a week away to the unofficial start of summer – Memorial Day Weekend. If you don’t already have your summer vacation plans made, you’re at least thinking about making them. Most of us eat at restaurants for at least part of our summer vacations. If you’re like me, you want to support restaurants that support local food producers even while you’re away from home.

 

One resource for finding farm to table restaurants is the American Farm to Table Restaurant Guide. The guide has a Facebook page and a website. American Farm to Table Restaurant Guide’s Facebook page keeps you up to date on what’s new on their website, plus they share links to articles that aren’t about restaurants but would be of interest to people with an interest in farm-to-table establishments.

 

The website has information on what its editors consider “the very best farm-to-table restaurants in the United States. They take into consideration not just how the food is sourced, but also “excellence in cooking and in service.” It’s not a definitive guide to all the farm-to-table restaurants out there, but it is one of several good resources available for finding restaurants in your region and other regions as you travel.
