A campaign designed to remind us that everyone has a right to know if foods are created with genetically engineered ingredients also serves another purpose: It's an easy way to nudge the FDA to act on the food label issue.
According to Just Label It, 93 percent of Americans want to see genetically engineered foods labeled. I’m one of that 93 percent, so I signed the legal petition that has been filed with the Food and Drug Administration calling on them to label GE (genetically engineered) foods. I have a right to know what I'm eating and what I'm feeding my family.
Robert Kenner, the filmmaker behind “Food, Inc.” created this video to educate about GE’s — what they are, why we should be concerned about them, and which countries have already realized that their consumers have the right to know.
If this is an issue that you’re concerned about — and you should be — please take a minute and sign the petition. You can keep informed about what’s going on with GE’s and GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) on the Just Label It blog.
