Two weeks after General Mills announced that original Cheerios are now GMO free, Post announced that original Grape Nuts carrying the Non-GMO Project Verified certification have hit the grocery store shelves.
When the Cheerios announcement was made, General Mills was careful to tell consumers not to be looking for other brands of Cheerios to be Non-GMO any time soon, but Post is more positive about the prospect of some of their other products ditching the GMOs.
“We are exploring some of our other cereals to see if there is potential going forward to add more non-GMO verified products to the Post Foods product line,” Post wrote in a letter to GMO Inside, a campaign that educates consumers about GMOs.
It will be interesting to see if there is this increases the sales of Post Grape Nuts. If you’re not a regular consumer of Grape Nuts, will this announcement get you to buy them?
