Gypsy Cold Care Tea curbs the coughing

An herbal tea from Traditional Medicinals brings welcome, temporary relief from cold symptoms.

Mon, Dec 13 2010 at 10:44 AM EST

I have a cold. My nose is stuffed up, and I have a cough that makes me sound like an old man who has smoked for 500 years. I don't have a fever or sore throat — just a good, old-fashioned annoying cold. I've found something that helps to relieve my cold symptoms for a short while that seems to work better than any over the counter medicine I've tried. It's Traditional Medicinals Gypsy Cold Care tea. It's the only thing I've found that can keep my coughing down to a manageable amount.

The tea is made from 92 percent organic pharmacopoeial grade herbs like elder flower, yarrow flower, peppermint leaf, hyssop herb and other organic herbs and flowers. The flavor is mild, neither sweet nor bitter, and I sweeten it with some local honey after it has steeped for at least 10 minutes.

Last week, when the cold was at its worse, I had trouble sleeping because of coughing. Once I started drinking this tea right before bed, I was able to get to sleep easily. There is no caffeine in the tea to hinder sleep.

I am not an expert on herbal teas or herbal remedies, but I know that this tea has helped me, and so I wanted to tell you about it. There are some cautions on the box that you should read first before brewing yourself a cup, so please read them and consult your doctor if you have concerns.

What natural remedies do you use when you've got a stubborn cold that just won't go away? I'd love to know.
