Michelle Obama: An iron chef?
The first lady and her kitchen garden to be featured on Iron Chef America.
This sounds like a whole lot of fun to me. If you’ve never watched the Iron Chef, it’s usually a competition between one of the Iron Chefs and one other well-known chef who have to create dishes from a secret ingredient – one that is not known to them until minutes before the timed competition starts. Part of the fun is watching them run around their cooking areas trying to get things done, and the other part of the fun is listening to Alton Brown trying to comment on a cooking show like it’s a sporting event.

I see that 'food should remain neutral' is going around posting this inane comment on all the blogs he can find. I suppose all the libraries, schools, and cities participating in Laura Bush's wonderful Big Read are being somehow partisan? How is using the White House garden political, except to someone who just hates the Obamas so much he can't stand to see Michelle on TV for two minutes?

Food network should remain neutral in the culture war by doing things like supporting Share Our Strength like they are now. As soon as I saw the first ad I knew that not only would no one that I know watch the program but that FN blew it bit time by failing to remain neutral. No one wants to watch FN to see political non-sense like this. I don't know the political leanings of the chefs or the network and I don't care to know.
