Michelle Obama does first Google+ Hangout

First of all, I want to say that I had Lexie Croft of Lexie’s Kitchen on the MNN Google+ Going Green for Halloween Hangout before Michelle Obama had Lexie on her Google+ Let’s Move Fireside Hangout earlier today. As my kids would say, “Just sayin’.”

Earlier today, Lexie and others, including a third-grade class, joined the first lady and Kelly Ripa for a live Google+ Hangout. The great thing about these live video chats is that they are automatically turned into YouTube videos, so if you’re unavailable to participate or watch live, you can still watch it at your convenience. The video has some dead air in the beginning and end of the video; the action begins at the 13:00 mark and ends around the 47:00 mark after Obama does the "Dougie" with some third-grade students.

I love that the first lady recognizes that young kids have no control over what they eat, and that adults need to take ownership and take on the responsibility of getting the junk out of the house and getting kids outside and moving. I also love that the Obamas structure their schedules so they can eat family dinner together as often as possible.

What impresses you about this fireside chat?
