Wegmans freezes grocery prices
Amidst rising food pricing, the grocery chain promises not to raise the price of 40 family items until the end of 2011.

Here’s one more reason to admire Wegmans
, the grocery store that I frequent most often. The store will have “consistent low prices” on 40 items that families frequently use. Many of those frozen prices will be on Wegmans' brand name products, including several of the company's Food You Feel Good About
products. Those products, while not organic, are better choices than many conventional products.
Specifically, Food You Feel Good About means:
- free of artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
- free of trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils
- fresh meats are from animals not given antibiotics, hormones or animal byproducts
The rising cost of food prices will stretch the budgets of many families. By offering some foods at prices that are frozen, perhaps families will be able to continue to afford some of the organics and more natural foods that they would like to continue buying.
As food prices rise, I’ll try to bring you information on deals that I find on organic, natural and other foods that can be considered healthier for you and the environment. If you’re already starting to feel the pinch of rising food prices, check out some of these past posts.
