10 cooking staples that can outlast you: Corn syrup

Hi, dont toss the corn syrup. Consider moving it to your emergency/first aid supplies. If a person or pet ever goes into hypoglecimic shock giving them Caro or corn syrup might save their life. My vet handed me a piece of paper with caro corn syrup written on it along with my dogs first batch of insulin and needles.

Actually... throw it out regardless of how old it is. Corn syrup is not food.

I wonder if this holds true for "Golden Syrup," the version used elsewhere in the world? Since golden syrup is made from cane sugar, would it spoil, or would it remain stable?

Don't throw out a bottle of CORN SYRUP??? Is this "Mother Nature Network" a joke? Seriously. Is it??

I agree with you. What's with corn syrup, especially in a plastic bottle? How about plain sugar. Or how about no sugar at all, mother nature?

you seem the most lickly person that i can ask can aperson can corn syrup or how do you store it

Corn syrup is not the same thing as high fructose corn syrup and Karo corn syrup does not contain any HFCS.

No, it's not a joke. Just because it's 'Mother Nature Network' doesn't mean they're going to automatically be against all of the things that it's hip for hippies to be against.
Most of the problems associated with things like this and with salt are due to consuming them in excess. It's obviously not just plain poison, or we'd have all been extinct a LONG time ago.
