E.coli outbreak in Europe caused by new toxic strain
The E.coli epidemic is caused by a new, highly infectious and toxic strain of bacteria that carries genes giving it resistance to classes of antibiotics.

OUTBREAK: Authorities are still hunting for the source of the new bacteria, which is believed to have contaminated raw vegetables. The E.coli outbreak has so far killed at least 17 people and made more than 1,500 others ill. (Photo: ZUMA Press)
