My friend Alison Kerr is the author of the blog Loving Nature’s Garden. I’ve learned a lot from her blog; her gardening abilities and passions go way beyond mine. She considers her entire yard to be her garden, while I consider the small plot where I grow vegetables in my backyard to be my garden.

Alison also sees the indoors as a garden, and she’s recently published a free e-book about what she considers the easiest vegetable to grow indoors — lentil sprouts. “Simple Sprouts: A no-fuss guide to growing your own food” is Alison’s gift to her readers.

The 11-page guide is clearly written. Any novice indoor gardener can follow the easy, step-by-step directions that outline what to do each morning and each evening for three days. At the end of the three days, the lentil sprouts will be ready to cook. (Yes, it only takes three days to grow edible sprouts.)

Three recipes for the sprouts are included in the book, and those who sign up on Loving Nature’s Garden will receive occasional e-mails with more recipes, tips for growing other types of sprouts, and free updates to the Simple Sprouts e-book.

Alison’s getting a lot of positive feedback from those who have already received the e-book and grown the sprouts. People have found the directions “easy to follow” and “so simple I couldn’t get it wrong.”
