Red, white and blue desserts on the Fourth of July are very popular, but many times the colorful treats are made with harmful food dyes. I think this easy trifle recipe, made in individual martini glasses, is a great alternative to those other desserts.

Pound cake, homemade whipped cream, fresh fruit and jam are all you’ll need to throw this patriotic Fourth of July dessert together.

Do you have any other ideas for red, white and blue Fourth of July desserts that are free from food dyes.
