Baking with booze

As the holiday's season kicks into high gear, so does the opportunity to indulge in boozy get-togethers with friends and family. In the space of a few short weeks, a fully stocked liquor cabinet can be reduced to almost nothing. One clever way to soak up the remains is to cook with them. Baking with booze is more about infusing food with flavor than potency. After all, spirits are the distilled essence of edible natural products elevated to a much higher power. Cooking the high-proof liquid can temper the bite. And any hooch that tastes good in a glass will be equally delicious in dessert. Cookies, pies and cakes are ripe for spiked concoctions. So treat yourself to these boozy baked goods that make the most of alcohol. (Text:  Enrique Gili)
