1/2 cup dry white wine, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay
2 slices ham, shredded
1 cup semi-soft cheese, shredded; any combination of Gouda, Jarlsberg or white cheddar
Freshly ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a skillet or small baking dish, add bread. Pour wine over bread. Top with onion, cheese and ham, season with pepper. Place baking dish on lower oven rack for 20 minutes, until cheese melts. Serve hot.
