That my fries i will try this recipe for sure :))
I tried the recipe and it's awesome!!!
Sweet poatatoes have a more intense delicious flavor. This recipe works but without the spicy and I have never done an eggwash before
I can't wait to try this. I got a NuWave oven for Christmas and plan to try it in that. I'll bet it will be awesome!!
please clarify "toss well to coat", sprinkling is self evident, not sure what to do after sprinkling. don't want to smother the fries with spices.
Making them!
Baking them on wrinkled foil cooks them more evenly. Very good recipe! :)
thats cool and all but 4 servings? come on thats three frys per man. and as a man three spicy fries at a tailgate just wont do.
Andrew:
Fear not, my friend! There are 12 fries for each buddy, since there are four potatoes in the recipie. Tell your friends to dig in! A lot of friends at your tailgate? Make more batches!
These look really good! And a welcome change from unhealthy fries.
I love this recipe! We love spicy fries but they are pricey. I replaced the egg with olive oil and oil the cookie sheet first. Also, I soak the cut potatoes in cold water fro anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, it makes them fluffy and not shriveled up.
I was introduced to baked fries last winter but using sweet potatoes instead of russets. really good eating. use sweet pots, not yams
with all the spices, why would you use salt
I love spicy fries! And I definitely love cumin. It's one of those flavors and smells that remind me of Texas.
ive always liked spicy fries but not the healthy type, but i must say after eating these once i have been converted to the healthy ones
to get them to bake evenly (and probably without turning them) just line the pan with aluminum foil, crumple it gently so it's a little wrinkled all over, squirt it with pam (I use olive oil from my Misto) so the potatoes don't stick. The foil will reflect enough under the potatoes to cook them nicely and crisply on both sides.
You're welcome. :)
I love fries! It is one of my fave potato recipes, I have tried adding it with flavor from BBQ, cheese, sour n cream but I have never tried it spicy. I wonder why I didn't gave it a try before? Oh well, I'll be making spicy fries now and I hope it taste good.
You have to use oil. Makes them crispy and prevents burning. No egg. Also add smoked paprika and garlic powder. A must!
I make this with olive oil in place of the egg, just throw the potatoes in a zipplock bag with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Much easier then dipping everyone in egg.
see those charred bits of potato ash? that happens every time with baked fries, without fail. it's basically impossible to cook them evenly.
I'm just going assume someone made a mistake inputting this information ... and not redunk the coated potatoes twice and sprinkle them 3 times.
