Apple, Nike, PG&E, Toyota and other behemoths have all left the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, but corporate pranksters, The Yes Men, decided to join that climate skeptic organization just long enough to produce the following result on Fox News this week:
Last night I got to see the premiere of The Yes Men Fix the World and meet half of the Dynamic Duo Andy Bichlbaum. If at all possible you must see this film. It is one of the most brilliant mergers of activism, art and comedy that I've ever seen. It manages to make fun of corporate America while driving the point home about the dangers of well-funded corporate cover-ups and denial campaigns.
The film also strangely gives hope. Somehow just by hearing the words "The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is reversing its position on global warming," for just a second you can imagine the world as it should be. It's motivating in a proactive, rather than a reactive way.
Someone in the audience after the film asked how it is that these corporations never press charges. And Andy response was, "Because we're telling the truth."
