Backing up your computer might save your data — and your mind. If you're not already doing regular computer backup and maintenance, add it to your spring cleaning tasks. Start by backing up all your critical files: photos, music, documents and anything you can't replace. Make sure you have plenty of free disk space, while you're at it, and clear files if you don't. Update any antivirus or antispyware software you might be running. Make sure your security settings are current. Then run any appropriate cleanup utilities for your operating system. Much better — and you didn't need a rake or a broom!
