You've probably heard of the fitness tracker called Fitbit, right? But have you ever heard of Quitbit? If you're a smoker
and looking to kick the habit
, this new gadget might be just the thing.
Whereas the Fitbit
tracker helps keep you stay on top of your fitness goals by monitoring things like calorie intake, workouts and sleep
, the Quitbit is a "smart lighter" that can help wean you off of smoking by monitoring how many cigarettes you smoke each day. You can also limit how often you smoke and set customized goals to limit your smoking.
is still in the Kickstarter stage. Developers are hoping to raise $50,000 in funding pledges to get the lighter up and rolling. From the Kickstarter site:
"With the Quitbit smart lighter you can track your smoking, set custom reduction plans, limit when it lights, and build new behaviors."
Here's how it works:
Similar to other fitness trackers, Quitbit helps users monitor their smoking without having to manually write down the number of cigarettes smoked or enter the same information into an app. And as the video says, if you can measure it, you can manage it.
