Field Sparrow, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Black-capped Chickadee … just a few of the birds whose distinct warbles you can now assign to your favorite friends via Sprint.

Sprint announced a partnership with the National Audubon Society last month via Twitter, but the real tweets are available on via Sprint’s online store.

Adding a whole new angle to the company’s very successful 2009 green campaign, the downloads will help raise awareness about the Audubon Society and its efforts to preserve the wild habitats of many bird species of birds unique to North America.

Each ringtone costs $2.50 and a portion of all proceeds goes to the Audubon Society. Ralph Reid, VP of Sprint CSR, explains why the company partnered with Audubon:
We recognize that protecting bird populations is vital to the overall health of our environment, especially as birds can provide urgent warnings about threats to our water, air, natural resources, climate and more.

Ringtones plays a vital role in mobile downloading. Downloading cheap and free ringtones is one of the more popular ways we brand a phone to ourselves and identify our friends when they're calling.
