Peter Wallerstein, director of Marine Animal Rescue in Santa Monica, Calif., nets an ill and pregnant California sea lion that beached herself after she was poisoned by a naturally occurring neurotoxin found in an algae bloom.

After she was netted, the sea lion was taken to a rehabilitation center for treatment.
