Remembering Hiroshima victims

Colorful paper lanterns are released into a river in Hiroshima, Japan, on Aug. 6 in observance of the 66th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of the city.

The atomic bomb killed 140,000 people on Aug. 6, 1945, and tens of thousands more people were killed a few days later when a second bomb was dropped in Nagasaki.
