Kamakura Snow Festival
A visitor snaps photos of the candlelit miniature Kamakura, or snow huts, along the river bank during the Kamakura Snow Festival on Feb. 15 in Yokote, Akita, Japan. In the 400-year-old folk event, local children offer sweet sake and grilled rice cakes to visitors as they invite them into the snow huts to worship the god of water at an alter carved inside.
