Researchers dressed in panda suits put a panda cub into a basket on Feb. 20 to transport it to the semi-wild training area at the Wolong Giant Panda Breeding Center in China's Sichuan province.

The staff members removed the cub and its mother to their new home as part of a program to work towards the goal of having pandas live independently in the wild. To limit the amount of human contact to the young cub, the program's handlers dress up in giant panda costumes.
