Baby koala shooting
A baby koala fights for its life on Jan. 19 at the Australian Wildlife Hospital in southeast Queensland. The male joey, believed to be 3 or 4 months old, was shot twice by an unknown perpetrator. Under the Nature Conservation Act, harming a koala is a punishable offense, with a maximum penalty of up to $300,000.
