No chance of survival
Surrounded by crocodiles, a doomed wildebeest makes a last gasp attempt to reach the other side of the Mara River in Kenya. The animal finally succumbed to the inevitable after a two-hour battle with the hungry crocs.
The stricken animal was one of 500 crossing the river in Kenya's Masai Mara reserve on the annual migration that serves as a source of food for predators. The wildebeest became separated from the herd, making it a guaranteed feast for the Nile crocodiles.
