Making a splashThe base model for NASA's future Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle took flight at Langley's Landing and Impact Research Facility on July 27, swinging across the sky at speeds near 50 mph. Seconds later it splashed into the Hydro Impact Basin, an oversized pool that tests future space vehicles for safe water landings.
