German BP protest
On the day BP released its half-year figures, Greenpeace activists staged a protest in front of BP's German corporate headquarters in Bochum. The protesters demanded an end to deep-sea oil drilling and covered themselves in an oil-like substance to remind people of the animals that are dying painful deaths in the Gulf of Mexico.
BP reported a $17 billion loss because of the costs of the Gulf oil spill.
