Happy ending for miners

Osman Araya, 30, embraces his tearful wife, Angelica, upon emerging on Oct. 13 from a collapsed gold and copper mine near Copiapo, Chile. He and 32 other miners spent 69 days trapped under ground.

The miners became trapped when 700,000 tons of rock collapsed on Aug. 5, sealing them in the lower reaches of the mine. For 17 days after that, no one knew if the miners had survived.
