Learn how we work with manufacturers to “design for the environment” — communicating both in the initial design stages of a device and at the device’s end of life. The video also explores the need and importance for consumers to recycle their old devices, so that no device ends up in a landfill.

We are at the forefront of this process, working with recyclers and manufacturing partners to ensure our consumers’ old devices are properly disposed of from both a privacy and environmental perspective.

In addition to using the parts of recycled phones to power new products, we use a portion of the proceeds from the cell phone recycling program to support charitable causes, such as Cell Phones for Soldiers, an organization that provides prepaid calling cards to deployed soldiers overseas.  

As is the case for many of our sustainability initiatives, the benefits of device recycling extend beyond the environment, helping to protect our customers, connect families and better our business.
