Woman sues Google over walking directions
Google Maps led Lauren Rosenberg to a four-lane road without sidewalks that was 'not reasonably safe for pedestrians,' according to the lawsuit.

No, before we can use Google Maps, we're going to check the box indicating Google, although freaking awesome, is not perfect. I think everyone who has used the application has discovered that routes are not always optimal and sometimes you don't end up where you were supposed to be. 99.9% of the time it's perfect. Doesn't that make the good outweigh the bad? This brings to mind, as I'm sure it does for many, the McDonald's suit where they LOST selling hot coffee that was "too hot."
Google has disclaimers all over the place about things like that in their directions. They shouldn't even have to have them, but they do to protect themselves from jerks like this lady. Can't find that rich husband to marry and then divorce? Just doing something stupid and sue...

Seems to me a unemployed woman is trying to get ahead in life thru law suits. How'd she ever find a lawyer to take this on is beyound me.
I know I'm one of thoes who never get lost even in unfimulary territory it's like having a compass sensor in your head but all of us were born with a brain but some of us dont seem to use it.

It's even freaking highlighted in yellow. Some people are just inherently stupid.
Inherently stupid is right. My daughter refers to it as Little Nicky-Idiocracy. They just keep getting dumber and dumber and dumber.
This is so clearly a case of someone not using the sense they were born with. Any electronic mapping system can give poor or just plain wrong directions. They all have disclaimers for good reason. I hope this gets tossed out. The speeding driver may have some culpability, however, was she even crossing at a proper crosswalk?
Although it's true that Google maps don't always direct us to an exact, convenient location. The directionally challenged, GPS-loving society we have become, should use some common sense when it comes to using Google maps or mapquest. We can't solely rely on it to get us to our final destination, technology isn't there yet.
It's suits like this that give lawyers (and humans in general) a bad name.
