GNR says 'Don't mess with Texas'
The Green News Report reveals the state's unhealthy relationship with renewable energy.

A healthy serving of great news from the Green News Report this week, focusing on crazy energy politics in Texas. Despite the fact that last week Texas broke its all-time record for peak energy demand, a bill that would help with peak energy demand by giving incentives to residential solar installations failed by only one vote.
I suppose for Texas this is progress. Two years ago such a bill would fly in the face of everything that is Texan (i.e. oil) but alas it still did not pass. So much for solar saving the day. The governor of Texas did, however, issue a formal statement asking Texans to help out this summer by conserving energy and using less air conditioning.
Hmmm ... wonder how well that will work.
