WHAT IS ALL THE HOOPLA ABOUT ELECTRIC CAR? IF MEMORY SEVERES ME RIGHT AT THE LAST HERSHEY AACA MEET THERE WAS AN 1918 DETROIT ELECTRIC CAR. I HAVE BEEM TOLD THESE CARS HAD A RANGE OF 80 MILES. I AGREE THAT THE NEW CARS HAVE MORE FEATURE MAYBE MORE PEOPLE SHOULD GO TO AACA SHOWS,AND LEARN A LITTLE HISTORY.

I agree that the oil companies have thwarted the development and fielding of electric cars. But they have realized that individual cars aren't their biggest consumer.

Finally we start making electric cars. Hopefully in next 3 years buying this car will be as easy as gas car

Eco-savvy consumers in the market for an electric vehicle will have several new models to choose from this year. The Chevrolet Volt and [skipwords]Nissan Leaf[/skipwords] changed the face of the electric vehicle market in 2011. While these two vehicles served as front-runners for the coming electric vehicle revolution, 2012 may prove to be the year of the electric car. Some of the world’s biggest automakers will be bringing new electric vehicles to market in 2012. They are not alone, though, as smaller automakers also have plans for EVs in the coming year.
