Hi, I rent for 3 years a Prius 2010. Super happy with it. Good driving, not noisy, motor do the job. I am looking for this next generation and places to charge are more and more available. Even an electric car. Will see in one year. So, don't be afraid to go Hybrid first. Prices stop some people. Rent it to try.

Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid
Although the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid is not an all-electric vehicle, it is definitely worthy of inclusion on an electric cars to watch list. The Prius is the best-selling hybrid in the United States, and Toyota is expanding the Prius family with the addition of a plug-in version. Toyota’s first plug-in Prius hybrid will be capable of driving about 15 miles in all-electric mode before a 134 horsepower hybrid system kicks in. Estimated fuel efficiency for the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid is 87+ MPGe in electric mode and 49 mpg in traditional hybrid mode.
