They made a false statement about 55 MPH speed limit not saving gas. It definitely does. Someone who understands the basics of aerodynamics should have fact checked the story. I could just imagine how much gas will be wasted by driving at 85 MPH.
False statement. There has been a stretch of 85 in far West Texas for many years. Ironic part: The traffic between Austin and San Antonio is always so bad that drivers are lucky to hit the 70 mph limit. So why up the speed limit in an area that is usually accident filled already at a lower rate? Not sure I agree with this move. In far West Texas, you are lucky to see another car. Between Austin & San Antonio, you are lucky to not get hit by one.
