Adele is officially on a health kick.
The 23-year-old singer recently told a radio station in the U.K. that she and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, have altered their lifestyle by incorporating more exercise and phasing out meat.
"I'm trying to be veggie," she said. "For what I want to do next year, I have to be really healthy and stuff like that."
So far, the new diet — which includes jogs each morning with her dog — has helped her lose more than 14 pounds. Unfortunately, she's not too keen on one type of food most commonly associated with a vegetarian menu.
"I can find another way of getting all the stuff out of meat you need," she said. "I hate that tofu stuff though. It's rank. Whenever I'm about to eat meat, I always see my little dog's eyes."
Adele's health kick comes in the wake of her successful comeback from vocal chord surgery last fall, which also led to her quitting smoking.
"I think I just needed to be silenced," she said in an interview last February. "And when you are silent, everyone else around you is silent. So the noise in my life just stopped. It was like I was floating in the sea for three weeks," she explained. "It was brilliant. It was my body telling me to fix me. I had so much time to kind of go over things and get over things, which is amazing. I think if I hadn't had my voice trouble, I would never have broached those subjects with myself. Now I just feel really at peace ... in fact, my entire life has changed in the last 10 weeks. I've never been so happy, and I love it."
