Inspired by the 22-day vegan cleanse she embraced in late 2013 with husband Jay-Z, singer Beyonce Knowles has partnered with friend and exercise physiologist Marco Borges on a new vegan meal delivery service.
"I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example," Beyonce said in a statement. "He is the most energetic person I know and it's all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle. He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can."
The new meal service is an off-shoot of Borges' already successful 22 Days Nutrition Challenge and line of plant-based protein bars and powders. Each delivery will feature a fresh meal containing non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free ingredients. Sample dishes include Winter Beans with Zesty-Parsley Quinoa, Ratatouille Pasta with Pesto and Almond Berry Breakfast Loaf. Depending on the plan you choose and the frequency of deliveries, meals cost anywhere from $9.76-$16.50.

The 22-day concept is based on the philosophy that it takes 21 days to break old habits.
"We all know the importance and value of eating plant-based foods but often times find ourselves trapped in a series of bad habits that sabotage optimum wellness," said Borges. "The Vegan Meal Delivery program makes it easier to reset your habits with healthy and delicious plant-based foods."
Beyonce's professional relationship with Borges began after the nutritionist helped her drop 57 pounds of baby weight following the birth of daughter Blue Ivy in 2012. At the time, Borges told Life & Style that the singer's diet included at least "one vegan meal a day because this typically gets people to eat more greens than they normally would."
After her 22-day cleanse last year, Borges said Beyonce transitioned to a mostly plant-based diet "with some fish here and there." In addition, he also revealed that the 33-year-old regularly works out using a combination of "body-weight squats, lunges and pliés, along with plyometric exercises and sprint intervals."
