Brooke Burke-Charvet is recovering and doing well following thyroid surgery yesterday to remove a potentially cancerous nodule.

"I'm resting, recovering," she tweeted this morning (Dec. 6),. "Surgery went well. Dr Adashek is a genius. Thx Dr! Feels like I got hit [by] a car :("

The 41-year-old co-host of the popular reality competition series "Dancing with the Stars" revealed her cancer battle last month, saying she was floored to receive the bad news, but optimistic going into her surgery.

"I've booked my surgery," she said. "It's taken me a couple of months to really wrap my head around this. … Now I'm good. I'm ready to deal with it, and I'm going to be fine. I feel really, really strong. Doctors say this is a 'good' kind of cancer to have. … My doctor did tell me this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing."

On Twitter, Burke-Chavret went on to reveal that one of her biggest fears — losing her voice — never came to pass.

"Thank God it's over," she wrote. "I'm clean, surgery went well & I can talk. Losing my voice was my biggest fear. Thx for all your prayers & light."

It's expected that the Burke-Carvet will be taking it easy for the next two weeks, when she plans to lean on her incredibly supportive friends and family.

"What I'm learning how to do now is say yes more than I say no," she wrote in blog post yesterday. "I know I've written about that concept before but now I find myself truly in a place of need and a little bit out of control knowing that I have to put my condition in someone else's hand, and that I'm actually going to have to step down and let other people step up. Knowing that I have such a supportive village around me is really comforting - more than I ever would have imagined."

She also today tweeted love to her supporters and thanked her fans. "so much love coming my way today via social media. Thank you 2 all my friends and supporters, I FEEL you! I'm online, thats a good sign :)"
