Think you have an energy efficient kitchen? Here’s an eco-trick you’ve probably never thought of: Poaching salmon with your dishwasher!

 

That’s right — The environmentalists at The Terrapass Footprint Blog have managed to get their dishes clean and eat their salmon too. “Not only was the salmon delicious, but the cooking technique prevented carbon emissions that would have occurred had we used our gas stove,” writes Adam Stern — who’s even put up video proof to show the dishwasher can, in fact, multitask.
