Like most people, I've done my fair share of fantasizing what it would be like to be wealthy enough to afford my own private chef. Can you imagine what it would be like to sit down to a healthy, delicious meal three times a day without ever lifting a finger? Thanks to Allen Campbell, private chef to Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, I can imagine it quite well β€” and it sounds fantastic.

Campbell, whose culinary ethos is rooted in plant-based foods, pulled the curtain back for reporter Hilary Sargent of on the nutritious meals he prepares for the power couple. A big proponent of local and organic foods, Campbell says he believes a plant-based diet has the power to reverse and prevent diseases.

"My philosophy starts in my own life, and with my own lifestyle and eating habits," he says. "I make conscious decisions to buy local and organic, and to stay away from GMOs, and to think about the future of the planet and the future of humans."

So what are Tom, Gisele and their kids eating these days? First, here are the things Campbell makes sure not to include: white sugar, white flour, MSG, olive oil (for cooking), canola oil, iodized table salt, coffee, caffeine, mushrooms and dairy.

What's leftover makes its way into meals that are 80 percent plant-based and 20 percent lean meats. Meals include veggie sushi, quinoa with wilted greens and garlic, soups and root vegetables, raw lasagna, salads, smoothies, wild-caught salmon, and raw granola and raw chocolate chip cookies. Campbell attempts to source as much as possible from local farmers markets and a nearby Whole Foods.

Once again: I would love to have a personal chef.

"It’s very different than a traditional American diet," shares Campbell. "But if you just eat sugar and carbs β€” which a lot of people do β€” your body is so acidic, and that causes disease ... Sugar is the death of people."
