Want a pumpkin-flavored snack on the go for your Halloween weekend hike? I recommend the Spice Pumpkin Pie CLIF BAR — which tastes like a delicious moist raisin-studded pumpkin cookie, except denser and chewier and spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
Yes, CLIF BAR’s seasonal flavors are back
, and the Spice Pumpkin Pie is my favorite — maybe because I’m in the Halloween spirit and pumpkin goes best with that orange holiday. Come November and December,I’ll be eating more of the other two — the Cranberry Orange Nut Bread with its citrusy tart goodness and the Iced Gingerbread, which comes studded with soy white chocolate chips and goes perfectly with a good cup of tea.
Of course, CLIF bars are sort of meant to be eaten on the go — but I like to enjoy my desserts sitting down. The bars are healthier version of dessert treats — each with 24 grams of sugar. Don’t worry — CLIF doesn’t use high fructose corn syrup. CLIF bars are mostly sweetened with organic brown rice syrup — and contain at least 70 percent organic ingredients.
And this winter, CLIF bar’s donating its 1% for the Planet donations to Winter Wildlands Alliance
, an environmental nonprofit that works to promote and preserve winter wildlands. Find the holiday bars at any store that carries CLIF bars — until they run out!
